The Marmora Area Canoe and Kayak Festival (MACKfest) is an annual event to celebrate the beginning of the whitewater paddling season. As spring arrives the snows of winter melt to swell the rivers in the basin known as the Lake Ontario Watershed. Many of the rivers and creeks are found in south central Ontario between Peterborough and Sharbot Lake along the Hwy. 7 corridor.
The quaint town of Marmora serves as the events home base. Paddlers from novice to expert will find a river or playspot suited to their skills here. Visit the Rivers page to find a description of the whitewater sections. Join us at Bunker's Restaurant on Saturday morning, paddle the day away, then join us for dinner and festivities back at the restaurant in the evening. On Sunday find yourself another river to explore. A member of Kawartha Whitewater Paddlers club will always be happy to help out with advice and river wiki.
